Man in Fredericksburg killed by Amtrak train headed to Newport News

An Amtrak train heading to Newport News has been stopped in Fredericksburg after the train hit and killed someone walking by.

The train that hit the man is Amtrak number 95- of the regional rail line which was headed from Boston to Newport News.

We’re told investigators remain on the scene and confirm a pedestrian versus train fatality. 

According to WTVR, the passengers on the train are supposed to be transferred to another train heading up from Richmond.
