EB lanes of HRBT to close this weekend

This is the first weekend VDOT will be closing the eastbound lanes on the HRBT.

It’s part of a 3-week closure plan from VDOT.

This comes after the traffic nightmare created when the HRBT and James River Bridge were closed the same weekend.

The James River Bridge will not have any closures this weekend.

The closures will only be at night.

They start Friday night at nine and end the next morning at nine.

The same thing happens on Saturday night, but on Monday morning, the closure will end at 4.

VDOT says you can use the Monitor Merrimac as an alternate, but they are urging drivers to change weekend plans so they can avoid the possible traffic.
