Capt. James CoBell, the Commanding Officer of Fleet Readiness Center Mid-Atlantic, was relieved today.

Officials say CoBell had been temporarily assigned to the staff of Naval Air Forces Atlantic Sept. 10th, during an investigation of CoBell’s leadership practices.

An investigation revealed that he misused his position in using subordinates for personal favors, used abusive language toward his personnel and failed to properly account for personal leave.

Capt. Michael Zarkowski, the Executive Officer of FRCMA, has assumed command.

CoBell has been assigned to the staff of Naval Air Force Atlantic pending appropriate administrative action.
