Stranded Whale

According to Linda Chandler of the Virginia Aquarium, a humpback whale was found on Wallops Island.

They say it was severely injured, possibly by propellers, and they have decided to euthanize the whale. They say it may be a juvenile that is around 30 feet.

According to Chandler, stranded whales typically do not survive. A Necropsy will be performed on Thursday.
