One injured in Beach shooting

According to Virginia Beach police, a man was shot in the calf in the 1500 block of Hummingbird Lane on Tuesday night. 

It happened shortly before 9 p.m.

Police say they received calls from a person saying they thought someone broke into a home. Police say there are no other victims at this time.

Police say the victim’s injuries were non-life-threatening. 

Police are still investigating this case. There is no motive at this time. 

Neighbors tell NewsChannel 3 they are surprised to learn about the incident, as they describe the neighborhood as a quiet, safe area.
