The 2012 NAS Oceana Air Show continues through today and Sunday. The event started Friday but the show’s main event happens today and Sunday, culminating with the Blue Angels this afternoon.

Gates opened this morning at 8 a.m. and earlier shows dazzled audiences with a simulated dogfight complete with smoke and air pyro.

The U.S. Navy Demonstration Team, The Blue Angels, are scheduled to close out both days this weekend with a performance at 3 p.m. Later tonight the Beach Blast begins at 6:30 p.m. with a free concert at the 31st Street Park, an F/A-18 Super Hornet after-burner flyover, night parachute jumps by the British Red Devils and an introduction to the men and woman of the Blue Angels team.
