USS Vella Gulf returns this weekend

A lot of families are looking forward to this weekend – that’s because the USS Vella Gulf is pulling back into Hampton Roads on Saturday.

The guided missile destroyer is expected to arrive at Naval Station Norfolk around 9 a.m.

The ship deployed back in January to the Mediterranean and Black seas.

The crew of the Vella Gulf helped maintain peace and stability in the region.
