Six arrested in two heroin busts in Dare County
Dare County, NC – Six people have been arrested in two separate narcotics busts in Dare County. According to the Dare County Sheriff’s Department, both operations took place on July 13th.
The first operation was the result on an ongoing investigation by the Kill Devil Hills Police Department along with members of the Dare County Sheriff Office and the Nags Head Police Department into heroin being brought into Kill Devil Hills and being sold throughout Dare County.
A search warrant was issued for a residence on N. Virginia Dare Trail, in Kill Devil Hills, and a significant amount of Heroin was seized during the execution of the search warrant.
23-year-old Clifford Dozier Dunn and 21-year-old Sarah Elizabeth McMurray were arrested on charges of conspiring to traffic in opium/heroin, trafficking if opium or heroin, possession with intent to distribute heroin and possession of heroin.
Dunn is being held at the Dare County Detention Center under a $30,000.00 bond. McMurray is being held at the Dare County Detention Center under a $15,000.00 bond.
In the second operation, members of the Dare County Sheriff’s Office arrested four Buxton residents during an investigation of heroin being brought to Hatteras Island.
During a traffic stop a Dare County Sheriff’s Office K-9 alerted on the vehicle and heroin and marijuana was found.
22-year-old Aaron Zane Gray of Buxton NC was charged with Possession with intent to manufacture, sell and deliver Heroin and Possession with intent to sell and deliver Marijuana. Gray is in the custody of the Dare County Detention Center under a $15,000.00 bond.
21-year-old Wyatt Hayes Kennedy of Buxton NC was charged with Possession with intent to manufacture, sell and deliver Heroin and Possession with intent to sell and deliver Marijuana. Kennedy is in the custody of the Dare County Detention Center under a $15,000.00 bond.
36-year-old Robin Leah Anderson of Buxton was charged with Possession with intent to manufacture, sell and deliver Heroin and Possession with intent to sell and deliver Marijuana. Anderson is in the custody of the Dare County Detention Center under a $25,000.00 bond.
21-year-old Danielle Denise Gartelman was charged with Possession with intent to manufacture, sell and deliver Heroin and Possession with intent to sell and deliver Marijuana and Maintaining a Vehicle. Gartelman’s Bond was set at $20,000 secured.
