Franklin man dies in vehicle accident

According to state police, a 49-year-old Franklin man was killed in a single-vehicle crash on July 4 on Route 650 in Southampton County.

They say a 2004 Dodge Ram pick-up was traveling NB on route 650 when it ran off of the road, hit a tree and caught fire.

The victim has been identified as Kent George Zernicke of the 3000 block of Forest Pine Road. He was wearing his seatbelt officials say.  They do not know if alcohol was a factor.

Police continue to investigate.
