Incoming cold front brings possible severe weather

Tracking storms… A cold front is moving through the Mid-Atlantic with hot and humid air in front and slightly cooler air behind it. The front is triggering storms that will move in this afternoon and evening. Severe storms are possible tonight and into Saturday with heavy rain, frequent lightning, and hail. Rain chances will taper off Saturday afternoon with clearing skies. Temperatures will be slightly cooler for the weekend, with a bigger cool down next week.

 

Tonight: Scattered Storms (50%). Lows in the mid 70s. Winds: SW 5-10 mph

Tomorrow: Showers/Storms(30%), Clearing Skies. Highs in the upper 80s. Winds: N 5-10 mph

Tropical Update

What was Hurricane Chris has now fallen apart over the open Atlantic. We are also watching a broad area of low pressure near the mouth of the Gulf of Mexico. There is a good chance that this could take on more tropical characteristics over the next few days.
