Norfolk police have arrested two suspects in connection with a robbery that happened over the weekend.
Police arrested 21-year-old Kendrell Hasaan Alston of the 1400 Block of Melon Street; he is charged with six counts of robbery, six counts of Use of a Firearm, and one count of conspiracy.
Norfolk police have also arrested 19-year-old Takari Smith of the 1400 Block of Gust Lane in Chesapeake; he is charged with six counts of robbery, six counts of Use of a Firearm, and one count of conspiracy.
Both suspects were arrested in connection with a robbery that happened on March 30, 2012, in the 1200 block of W. 40th Street. Reports of the robbery came in at 12:30 a.m.
Police say on March 30, five ODU students along with one Virginia Tech student were walking to Taco Bell when they were approached by suspects armed with a handgun demanding money. Police say the suspects ran away with the victim’s cell phones, backpacks, a purse and a wallet.
No one was injured during the robbery.
On March 31, 2012, police found the suspects in the 1900 block of Greenleafe Drive at approximately 4:45 a.m.
They were taken into custody without incident.
Police are still looking for a third unknown suspect. He is described as a black male, age 18-23, wearing all black clothing at the time of the robbery.

Investigators are looking at other robberies in the area to determine if these suspects may have been involved. Those investigations are ongoing, and additional charges are possible.
