‘Personhood bill’ passes Virginia Senate committee

RICHMOND, Va. (WTVR) – The so-called ‘personhood bill’ passed the Senate Education and Health Committee by a vote of 8 – 7, reported Sam Brock who monitored today’s vote from the General Assembly.

The bill, which would provides rights to unborn children at every stage of development, now moves on to a vote before the entire state Senate.

The bill has already passed the House of Delegates.

The bill’s sponsor, Del. Bob Marshall (R – Prince William County), spoke at the committee hearing before this morning’s vote. Virginians from both sides of the issue also lined up to share their opinions with committee members.
